Flashback Episode

I fell off my slide, I fell on the slide at the park, and I ran into a door. All in one week. In honor of these three head injuries this week, I'm flashing back to one year ago....

August 2009. I weighed 16 pounds- today I weigh 25. I was 26.5" tall and off the charts for my height! Today I am 31" tall. I had also just started eating. In fact my mommy emailed Nanna and Gigi about my first meal, "We mixed some with breast milk with rice cereal last night just to see how she would like it. She pulled at the spoon to put it in her mouth, but once the food made it to her mouth, she spit it out! It was so cute!" Mommy 8/22/09

Here is a video of me a year ago. As you can see, I'm totally different now! Back then I just laid around and hiccuped!

Man, I've been busy!

Sorry for the delay in posting, but the last week has been a whirlwind! Friday Mom and Dad made me sweep the whole "Giggle Giggle" room! As you can see I'm not very happy about it.

After that we drove aaaaaalllllll the way to Temple and I slept through the whole car ride! I got to see my Grandma GG and Ross, my Grandpa Graves, my Grandma D, even Auntie Em and Uncle B! Then I even hung out with my GGR (Great Grandma Rose), Great Grandpa, and my Nana Betty! You'd think it would make me tired, but I loved all of the attention!

Even after a busy weekend, we had things to do! Mommy took me to see a rockband on Monday and then today I made my first trip to the museum!

I loved the Museum even though it was incredibly busy! First, I listened to a weird story about a girl who's step mother didn't like her and abandoned her in the woods. Then I ate a sandwich by a really toothy frog while my friends Noah and Luke made arty puppet bags.

Then I got to color with Ms. Shelagh in a card board cave! She even let me write on the wall at the Museum! I was surprised because Mommy doesn't let me color on the walls at home and because the guards there don't like me to even point at the art work! But Ms Shelagh said she wouldn't tell anyone!
Ms. Shelagh also told mommy that over 700 mommies with strollers were pushing through the doors to get into First Tuesdays at the museum that morning. Whew, no wonder it seemed so crowded.

All in all, the best part of the day was seeing the prints of calaveras by Posada! I tried to tell mommy about how the floating calaveras reminded me of the book Aunt Stephie bought me, but she couldn't understand what I was saying. Anyway, I talked about the floating calaveras for a very long time, and mommy had to remind me to look at the rest of the exhibit.

As you can see, I really have been busy. It almost makes me relieved that mommy will go back to work in two weeks! Not really, but I tell her that to make her feel better. That's all for now, see you next time!

Impressions and Play dates

Driving home from Target the other night, I told mom and dad, "I'm cute!" They started thinking, "Uh Oh! We are in for it now! She knows she's cute!" Lemme tell you, they are right!

Here is me being cute doing my Lily Tomlin Impression:

So, last week Uncle Tony finished my amazing playscape in the backyard and Dad-Dad finished my Giggle Giggle Room! Now I can play and play and play! We've had a lot of people come over since then. I'll show you a few of the highlights.

Today Was a Good Day

Mom and I put on our sunglasses to go the library.

After storytime, I had a giant panda read me a book about pandas.

Then Auntie Em and Dad took me to my favorite place, Yogurt Fusion!

And last, but not least, I attempted to try on my first swimsuit, a stringy Gold Lamé number, at the thrift store.

Yep, today was a good day.

What's That?

I don't know what we were pointing at, but Pop-Pop knows what everything is! "What's that?" is my new catch phrase that I use almost everyday. I can't wait for tea and tots tomorrow at the Hydrant! My dad might take me!

Speaking of, did I show you the awesome chair my dad bought me? Mrs. Audrey said it makes me look like an architect. ( You may want to only watch the first bit. I couldn't get my editing software to work!)

Oh and I'm sure you'll want to see this vid of me dancing!

The Catch Up Episode

Well, first things first, I need to catch you up to date. I'll just hit the highlights so you don't get bored!
1) I'm not only walking now. I'm running!
2) I acquire new words every day!
3) This is what my buddy R-dog and I looked like a year ago
4) But now we look like this! Pretty drastic change, huh?

I'm learning new words everyday! My first word that really went with an image was "shoe". (I know, I know, you aren't surprised because my mom is pretty crazy about shoes, right? Did she ever tell you about the time she made my Tio Vicente walk all over Amsterdam looking for an ATM to buy some Frankenstein shoes? No? You should ask her, it's an entertaining story.) Then I went on to saying things like uh oh, ush teeth, what's that, and a lot of times it sounds like I'm saying cat or repeating what mommy and daddy say. Just last night I started saying bath!

Uh oh! Gotta run! Dad bought me a new chair and I need to go try it out! See you next time! Insert hug here!
